Novitec Begins Upgrading The Lamborghini Huracan Performante
Extreme as it already is, Novitec has a range of components that'll take the top Huracan even further
By all accounts, Lamborghini did a heck of a job in creating the Huracan Performante. Lapping the Nürburgring in under seven minutes with "only" 640 metric horsepower, after all, is no mean feat. But Novitec figures it can do better.
The German tuner has come out with an array of enhancements for the ten-cylinder supercar. And while engine upgrades are still in the works, it's already revealed a series of components for the Performante to take it even further than stock.
Things start, as you might have guessed, with a full body kit that's made from the same kind of forged carbon fiber that Lamborghini pioneered in the first place. The package includes a proliferation of wings, air ducts and other add-ons, all tested in the wind tunnel to improve the Huracan's aerodynamics.
Novitec is also offering its NL3 forged alloys to upgrade the rolling stock in 20- and 21-inch diameters, fitted to a suspension dropped by an extra 35 millimeters (1.4 inches). And while we wait for those engine enhancements to come along, the company's offering a sports-exhaust upgrade made from high-tech inconel alloy.
As it is, the Huracan Performante is the most potent ten-cylinder production Lamborghini ever, as its high-revving 5.2-liter V10 kicks out 631 horsepower (471 kW) and 443 lb-ft (601 Nm) of torque. That's not only more than the exclusive Sesto Elemento (which shared its engine with the previous Gallardo Superleggera); it also matches the V12-powered Murcielago LP640-4. And while it may not produce as much torque, the Huracan's lighter weight means it’ll run circles around the former top Raging Bull.
